Healing Isn’t Linear Blog#4

Healing Isn’t Linear

We live in a world that praises the newest phone, the latest trend, or comparing ourselves to others online but the real ones know healing is messy. It’s layered. And most of the work happens in silence, behind the scenes, with nobody clapping for you but God. So, what does healing actually look like?

  • One day you’re forgiving someone who never apologized.
  • Another day you’re triggered by a smell, a song, a memory.
  • Some days you’re strong enough to help others.
  • Other days you can barely get out of bed.

And here's the truth, all of that counts. Because healing is a process, not a performance. It's not about being okay all the time, its about being honest enough to say, "I'm not okay. but I'm going to show up anyway." That doesn't mean you're broken or weak. That means you're healing.

Healing isn't about never hurting again. Its about learning how to keep living through the pain with new tools, new boundaries, and deeper connection to your faith. The most powerful truth is, God is with you in every part of the process. The messy parts. The angry prayers. The tears no ones sees. He's not waiting for the healed version of you. He walks with the current version. Right here. Right now

A lot of us aren't just healing from what happened to us we're healing from what we were taught to believe about ourselves because of it. You might be unlearning lies like:

  • Im only valued when I'm productive.
  • I can't be vulnerable and strong at the same time.
  • If I rest , I'm lazy.
  • I have to earn love.

Real healing means questioning those belief systems. It means letting go of false identities you were forced to wear to survive. It means giving yourself permission to rest, receive, and rebuild without guilt. Faith plays a huge role in that. When you realize your identity is rooted in God, not performance, everything shifts. You stop trying to heal so you can be accepted and start healing because you’re already loved.  Keep going. Take the pressure off. Celebrate the baby steps. You are not behind. Healing may not be perfect but it's possible

Healing isn’t a destination. Some days you’ll dance. Some days you’ll crawl. But every moment matters. Don’t let the world’s timeline rush your journey. Don’t let comparison convince you you’re behind. And don’t let shame trick you into silence. Let that be your reminder today: You are not broken or weak. You are becoming.
